A thickly-built tom dropped into a hunters crouch, creeping lightly across the forest floor. His pelt was nearly all black, except for his white upper jaw, chest, shoulders and underbelly. His paws and ankles were white as well, hence his name, Whitefoot.
The loyal ShadeClan tom's pale greenish yellow eyes were focused on the prey in front of him- an unaware squirrel, munching absentmindedly on a nut. Suddenly, he sprang and a squeal of surprise erupted from the fresh-kill as its spine was snapped. The nut in its mouth fell out to the ground, a single reminder of the squirrel that was.

Good day, Whitefoot A large black tom stepped out from behind a few bushes, a plump mouse clutched firmly in his jaws. He set it down lightly on the forest floor before sitting down, lightly curling his bushy tail around his front paws.

The gray figure of Wolfstar passed some bushes and stopped at a stream.

"Oh, g'day Wolfstar, Darkstorm," Whitefoot said, giving an acknowledging nod to both of them before taking a bite from his prey. "So, how's the stream flowing?"
(He means "How are you doing?".)

Wolfstar looked at Whitefoot. "Ok, I guess." she meowed and took a drink from the stream, keeping a watchful eye out, just in case one of her warriors wanted to push her in.

Noticing her edginess, Whitefoot purred in amusement. "Tick bit your tail, Wolfstar?" Then he stopped, realizing that Wolfstar not trusting her warriors might be an issue. "Shadowheart's gone, Wolfstar."

Pretty well, I suppose Darkstorm said in response to Whitefoot's question. Glancing over to Wolfstar, he noticed the amount of nervousness she seemed to have. Are you okay? He asked gently, wondering what had happened to her to make her so antsy. She had only been like this since she had appointed that new deputy...

Wolfstar sat up and looked at her warriors. "I'm not worried about Shadowheart, I'm worried about Tigerstripe, and my nine lives." Wolfstar meowed and layed down with a sigh.

Whitefoot tilted his head. Why Tigerstripe? She's your deputy! He couldn't understand why Wolfstar was so nervous about her. Was she judging Wolfstar by her blood? (Neither Darkstorm or Whitefoot, or any other cat for that matter except Wolfstar and Tigerstripe know how Tigerstripe acted towards Wolfstar.)

Tigerstripe? Why would Wolfstar be afraid of her own deputy? Darkstorm was about to ask, but Whitefoot voiced his thoughts before he could. Did this have something to do with Tigerstripe's father, Shadowheart? Why is there anything to fear from Tigerstripes? He asked.

"I don't know, right now I need layal warriors." Wolfstar sighed and put her head on her paws.

Darkstorm looked concernedly at Wolfstar. It was not good for the clan if their leader was so uptight all the time, especially with warriors like Atroxfire around. Maybe you should set a few warriors as bodyguards? He suggested softly, not really sure what else to say to comfort her.

I'm loyal! Whitefoot yowled, a little offended that she would not consider him loyal. He then spoke again. But why is it Tigerstripe that you fear? You named her your deputy. If it is one cat you should fear, it should be Atroxfire. I do not know why we kept that cat- he was as close to Shadowheart as friends could be; almost like brothers!

"I never said you were not loyal, Whitefoot." Wolfstar meowed, her fur bristling. "The bodygaurds will be you two. You two are the only warriors I can trust right now." Wolfstar meowed and gave them both a lick on the head.

Whitefoot avoided trying to say that he didn't want to spend all of the time with his leader... even if she did appoint him as her bodyguard. Well, we do need some free time, don't we? How about Shadowpaw and Sheepwool switch off with us every now and then... and in the camp, you don't have to worry, there's always a cat nearby. The same with the territory...
