Flamestar wondered if Wolfstar was always this close-mouthed. "Just curious, who is the father?" Flamestar asked.

Otterheart began to trot back to camp, the large trout still flopping slightly from her mouth. She wobbled a little as she carried the fish. I wonder what could be so secret that they made me leave... She thought silently to herself. Just then, the fish she was carrying gave one final flop, tearing itself out of Otterheart's mouth and onto the ground. Otterheart gasped in surprise, craning her neck to pick the fish up again. As she did, the soft sound of Wolfstar and Flamestar's voices wafted through the air, carried along by a slight breeze, and making their words easy to hear. The she -cat hesitated a moment. Was it really right to eavsdrop on her leader's conversation? She took a step closer, though still concealed behind a nearby bush, the wind blowing her scent away from the leaders. She was quiet a moment, straining to hear the exchange of words, but feeling guilty at the same time. ...Oceanpaw... Otterheart couldn't hear everything that was said, but still heard enough to know that the ReefClan apprentice was Wolfstar's daughter. She reeled back. Why did Wolfstar have a daughter? It was against the warrior code! Otterheart emerged from behind the bush, stalking up to the two leaders. "Wolfstar!" She said, slight anger in her thin voice, "Oceanpaw is your daughter?! Why is she in ReefClan! - and, and" She sputtered, "You broke the code!"

Wolfstar drew her head up sharply. What are you doing?! Listening in to our conversation?! Wolfstar hissed, her ears flattening sharply. Her yellow eyes glinting with rage and something else. Wolfstar sighed.
Oceanpaw ran up to Flamestar and nearly bumped into Otterpelt.

Otterheart stuttered for a moment. "I-I... Am sorry.." She turned her gaze to the gravel below her paws. True, she had been eavesdropping, but how could she not? She felt terrible, but that wouldn't help the fact that she had heard what was going on. Her jaws opened once more, about to explain herself, but she was cut off as someone ran into her. Oceanpaw - just in time.

Wolfstar bowed her head to Otterpelt and looked at Oceanpaw with a gleeam of happiness in her eyes.
Oceeanpaw muttered a sorry to Otterpelt and looked up at Wolfstar shyly.

Otterheart accepted the apology with a slight nod of her head, though she barely acknowledged it. Her gaze flickered from mother to daughter, wondering whether it would be better if she left, for real this time.
[OOC:// Her name's Otterheart. =P]

Wolfstar flicked her tail, not wanting Otterpelt to leave. She needed to tell Oceanpaw that she was her daughter, but doesn't know how it would go.

Otterheart sat down slowly, eying the pair. This must be hard for her... She thought, feeling slight sympathy for the ShadeClan leader. Hopefully, Oceanpaw would recieve the news well.

Wolfstar took a small gulp and opened her mouth slightly.
Oceanpaw looked up at Wolfstar and blinked.

Otterheart could feel the tension building in the clearing, and suddenly, the air seemed very still. Too still. She sat back, biting her tongue to keep from crying out the truth herself. She looked over to Wolfstar expectantly.
